How to Take Care of Long Hair




Gorgeous, healthy long hair gives every female the extra look of glow, vigor and femininity. Long hair helps a woman to maintain young glowing look even in later years of life, while adding charm to a woman’s beauty. Long hair undoubtedly looks very elegant; however, they need that extra care and proper attention. Without care, long hair can look dull, frizzy and limp. You need to take proper care to keep them healthy and shiny. Hair can be kept healthy by taking a balanced diet. Along with that, there are various other ways which can help you take care of your hair. Some of them are mentioned below:

1.Use a good quality hair brush: It is very important to use a good quality hair brush as any broken or badly made hair brushes can rip your hair or even cause breakage. The idyllic brush would be one with boar bristle or the one made with bamboo. These brushes are harmonious with hair. They also help to spread hair oils evenly and bring out the luscious shine.

2.Use wide–toothed comb: If your hair tangles a lot then you should use a wide-toothed comb to separate them. Use your fingers to detangle your long hair before brushing them. Never use a fine-toothed comb in wet hair as it breaks them and leaves the hair roots/ follicles damaged.

3.Avoid using hair appliances: Do not use hair dryers as they leave your hair weak and start premature graying. Usage of hair straighteners and curlers also damage long hair. However, if you must use any of these appliances use it on cool setting.

4.Choose hair accessories wisely: Always choose hair accessories very wisely as all those are not suitable for long hair. Instead of using a hard rubber band, use a soft cloth band to decrease the breakage. Avoid back combing. Try new hairstyles like braiding, up do’s or buns, but remember not to pull or yank your hair as it causes hair damage.

5.Trim your hair regularly: Always trim your long hair every 6-8 weeks to remove split-ends and any surplus hair weight which can make hair oily, rough or dry.

6.Protect your long hair from direct sunlight: Always protect your hair form direct sunlight while you take walk or while random shopping. Cover your head with some hat or scarf. Cleanse hair thoroughly after it has been exposed to excessive sunlight, chlorine or perspiration.

7.Take good care of your health: Your style of living shows on your long hair. Deficiency of sleep, extreme strain, smoking, poor eating and exercising routine makes it really hard to keep your hair healthy. Eat a nutritious and balanced diet rich in proteins and vitamins, drink plenty of water, take proper rest and avoid smoking. This will help you keep your long hair lusciously beautiful.

8.Avoid the use of cotton pillow cases: The hair get caught in cotton fibers and can lead to dryness of hair. Use a silk or satin cover to sleep.
